How would you characterise your institution?
An institution can be public, private or private government dependent.

An institution is classified as public if it is controlled and managed directly by a public education authority/agency; directly by a government agency; or a governing body (Council, Committee etc.) most of whose members are either appointed by a public authority or elected by public franchise.
An institution is classified as private if it is controlled and managed by a non-governmental organisation (e.g. a Church, a Trade Union or a business enterprise), or its Governing Board consists mostly of members not selected by a public agency. Private institutions may be further classified as government dependent private or independent private institutions.
A government-dependent private institution is an institution that receives more than 50 per cent of its core funding from government agencies, or one whose staff is overwhelmingly paid by a government agency.
An independent private institution is an institution that receives less than 50 per cent of its core funding from government agencies and whose teaching personnel are not paid by a government agency. See: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/45/17/33692376.pdf
